About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Collector to join our team at Expedia Group. As a Collector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth recovery of funds from our valued partners and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with our partners to collect their debt, primarily through phone calls, but also via email or chat.
  • Effectively collaborate with internal and external business partners to improve processes and meet departmental expectations, deadlines, and targets.
  • Directly interact with external customers and partners, with a focus on transactional communication.
  • Discuss invoice disputes and queries with various departments to determine ways to reach agreement and mutual satisfaction.
  • Persuade clients to switch to our preferred payment methods.
  • Respond to routine information requests and ensure accurate retrieval, formatting, and distribution of information to requestors.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies related to confidential information and data privacy guidelines when distributing financial and personal information.
  • Utilize basic information management tools and system data queries to retrieve requested information.
  • Store information and files using standard filing systems and processes.
  • Take an active interest in your work and suggest improvements to current ways of working.
  • Demonstrate motivation and drive to perform tasks until personal goals are met and desired results are achieved.
  • Execute tasks in a timely manner without being asked, independently driving work to completion with minimal instruction.
  • Accurately keep track of details and deliverables.
  • Assess the relative importance of tasks and activities assigned.
  • Apply judgment, with support, to make trade-offs on time and resource allocations when faced with competing demands.
  • Utilize resources to complete tasks, track your own efficiency using reports and tools.
  • Distinguish between activities and tasks that add differing levels of value, determining potential improvements to impact quality.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset, double-checking accuracy of your output to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Identify areas where efficiency and process improvement are needed within your work area.
  • Support process improvement by implementing ideas and approaches presented to you.
  • Investigate and apply existing, defined solutions to known issue types, based on process and data.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of sales experience in the hospitality or banking industry.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent related experience.
  • Functional/Technical Skills.
  • Proactive and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management skills, including prioritization, attendance, and timeliness.
  • High attention to detail, including quality assurance and peer review.
  • Effective communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening.
  • Basic industry knowledge preferred but not required.
  • High-level customer service skills, including stakeholder management and conflict resolution.
