Job Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Phoenix Home Care and Hospice in Springfield. As a key member of our Financial Services Department, you will be responsible for efficiently managing a high volume of payroll transactions, ensuring accurate and timely processing, and representing our organization professionally at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll workflow to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations and verify reports for accuracy before transmission
  • Represent the Financial Services Department professionally at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrate understanding of multi-state taxation regulations related to employer-paid benefits
  • Execute additional duties and special projects as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of payroll experience
  • Prior experience in healthcare payroll using established systems such as UKG, PeopleSoft, WorkDay, etc.
  • Proficiency in Excel for Pivot Tables and V-lookup
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems is a plus
  • Experience handling high-volume payroll tasks
  • Adept at analyzing large datasets quickly and accurately
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Effective stress management skills
  • Strong research and problem-solving abilities
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Reliable, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
