We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Registration Coordinator to join our team at DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for registering and scheduling patients for health services, ensuring the accuracy of patient information, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Register and schedule patients for health services, ensuring appropriateness of setting for services provided.
- Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefit levels, securing authorizations and referrals as necessary.
- Provide financial counseling services to assist patients in identifying and obtaining alternate payment sources.
- Review, monitor, and reconcile collected demographic and insurance data to ensure accurate bill production.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining patient service records and participating in bed management activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two years of work experience in hospital healthcare, insurance, medical records, or related area desirable.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology desired.
- A strong commitment to the DMC customer service standards.
This is a full-time evening shift position, working 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
