Position Overview: Research Analyst for the Heartland Region

The Research Analyst will play a pivotal role in the Heartland Region by utilizing diverse data sources to assess market dynamics and effectively relay the commercial real estate narrative to stakeholders. Key responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing market trends, preparing insightful presentations, and creating valuable research content. Collaboration with external research partners, brokerage specialists, and JLL's Americas Research team will be crucial to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of the office, industrial, flex, and life sciences commercial real estate sectors, focusing on property data, lease agreements, sales transactions, tenant information, availability, and development activities.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the local economy, including job composition, industry sectors, demographics, and corporate growth within the market.
  • Deliver high-quality insights and data through traditional reporting and advanced data visualization tools, including proprietary JLL technology.
  • Contribute to JLL's internal data management initiatives and explore innovative applications for content and visualization tools.
  • Generate quarterly market reports for the office and industrial sectors in designated markets.
  • Support client presentations by providing market intelligence, trend analysis, and statistical data.
  • Foster strong relationships with both internal and external clients, leveraging research as a competitive advantage while maintaining a client-focused approach.
  • Stay informed about local and national commercial real estate developments and share updates with brokerage leadership.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with 2+ years of relevant professional experience in fields such as economics, consulting, research, real estate, economic development, or urban planning.
  • A demonstrated passion for real estate and a commitment to understanding market dynamics at both micro and macro levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights and identify trends through data analysis.
  • A collaborative mindset, capable of working independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • An organized and proactive approach to tasks.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while demonstrating resilience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire to thrive in a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.
  • Experience with GIS tools (e.g., MapIT, ArcGIS) is a plus.
