Role Overview: Research Analyst for the Heartland Region

The Research Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the Heartland Region by utilizing diverse data sources, including JLL's proprietary information, to assess market dynamics and effectively convey the commercial real estate narrative to brokers, clients, and potential customers. Key responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing the commercial real estate landscape with an emphasis on trend analysis, market presentations, and the creation of insightful research content. You will be an integral part of a sales enablement team, contributing to strategic business development initiatives. Collaboration with external research colleagues, brokerage specialists, and local market clients, along with JLL's Americas Research team, will be vital to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously track the office, industrial, flex, and life science commercial real estate sectors, including data on properties, leases, sales, tenants, availabilities, and developments.
  • Cultivate in-depth knowledge of the local economy, focusing on job composition, industry demographics, and the growth trajectories of companies within the market.
  • Deliver data excellence and insights through traditional reporting methods and advanced data visualization tools, including JLL's proprietary technologies.
  • Actively engage with JLL's internal data management systems and explore innovative applications for its content and visualization tools.
  • Generate quarterly market reports for the office and industrial sectors in designated markets.
  • Contribute to client presentations by providing market intelligence, trends, and statistical insights.
  • Foster strong relationships with both internal and external clients, utilizing research as a key differentiator and maintaining a client-facing focus on new business opportunities.
  • Stay informed and update brokerage leaders on local and national commercial real estate developments.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with 2+ years of relevant professional experience in fields such as economics, consulting, research, real estate, economic development, or urban planning.
  • A demonstrated passion for real estate and a strong commitment to understanding micro- and macro-level market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to uncover new insights and trends through data analysis.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • An organized and proactive approach to tasks.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively while demonstrating resilience and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A desire to thrive in a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.
  • GIS experience is a plus (e.g., MapIT, ArcGIS).
