Job Summary

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food & Nutrition is seeking an Adult Inpatient Neurology Clinical Dietitian to join our team. This position uses the Nutrition Care Process to assess, evaluate, and provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for adult and geriatric inpatients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach dietetic students and participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop nutritional components of care.
  • Provide quality patient care, including nutrition screening, evaluation, assessment, treatment, and documentation of patient care plans.
  • Educate students with on-the-job training and evaluate their progress.
  • Assess nutrition status and instruct/counsel patients on appropriate diets.
  • Participate in health team rounds and assist in the implementation of studies and short-term projects.
  • Perform special projects as assigned and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure by the State of Iowa are required.
  • Demonstrated competency of patient care in pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations across a wide range of medical conditions is desirable.
