Job Summary

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food & Nutrition is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian II to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, evaluate, and provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for adult and geriatric outpatients and inpatients.
  • Teach dietetic students and participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop nutritional components of care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles and assess nutritional status to instruct and counsel patients.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital committees to address patient food habits and needs.
  • Educate students with on-the-job training, evaluate their performance, and provide necessary support.
  • Conduct peer chart reviews and audits, and train new personnel as assigned.
  • Seek opportunities for professional growth and development, including research, CEU programs, and advanced credentialing.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of clinical nutrition experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in patient care across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Experience in making enteral and parenteral recommendations and selecting appropriate formulas.
