Job Summary:

The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian II to join our team in the Department of Food & Nutrition. As a Clinical Dietitian II, you will play a vital role in providing medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling to pediatric neurology patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate patients' nutritional needs and develop personalized nutrition plans.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on healthy eating habits and nutrition-related topics.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement nutritional components of care.
  • Participate in health team rounds and contribute to the development of short-term projects.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on the performance of dietetic interns.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for new personnel and act as a mentor to new staff members.
  • Conduct peer chart reviews and audits to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of clinical nutrition experience, with a focus on pediatric neurology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in patient care across a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure by the State of Iowa are required.
