Job Summary:

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food & Nutrition is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a vital role in providing medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling to pediatric neurology patients. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, evaluating, and treating patients with complex medical conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate patients' nutritional needs and develop personalized care plans.
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling to pediatric neurology patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop nutritional components of care.
  • Teach dietetic interns and provide on-the-job training.
  • Participate in health team rounds and contribute to patient care discussions.
  • Assist in the implementation of studies and short-term projects.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital committees.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics.
  • Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Licensure by the State of Iowa.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated competency in patient care across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Experience in making enteral and parenteral recommendations and selecting appropriate formulas.
