Supply Chain Procurement Leader

The Supply Chain Procurement Leader is accountable for the formulation and execution of Supply Chain strategies, encompassing Scheduling and Purchase Estimating for North America. This position involves directing the procurement team and ensuring the synchronization of supply planning and sourcing priorities with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with functional leaders and internal stakeholders to foster alignment in supply planning and sourcing priorities across various initiatives.
  • Oversee strategic supply planning, execution, and supplier network management.
  • Lead the development and implementation of programs and initiatives in partnership with internal and external functional leaders.
  • Manage the procurement team, providing ongoing coaching and conducting performance reviews to encourage team member development and enhance quality.
  • Design and implement departmental processes to improve the department's quality and efficiency.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Sourcing Strategy for Direct, Indirect, and Services categories.
  • Establish departmental and individual objectives, benchmarked through KPIs with year-over-year enhancements.
  • Identify and leverage strategic opportunities to boost quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and nurture existing and new vendor relationships to enhance supplier deliveries, quality, and cost. Create supplier scorecards to assess supplier performance.
  • Investigate and identify new vendors to strengthen the supply chain framework.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers, ensuring advantageous terms.
  • Coordinate deliveries and ensure timely delivery of products from suppliers.
  • Address quality or delivery challenges with suppliers using a corrective action process.
  • Maintain financial records of past orders, reviewing them for cost, delivery, and vendor performance.
  • Participate in kick-off meetings, buy-offs, and other job-related conferences to stay informed on the latest changes in jobs, products, and proposals.
  • Organize departmental meetings to communicate job structures, budgets, and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety & environmental regulations and identify potential safety/environmental concerns.
  • Adhere to the Quality Systems and actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a critical function of this role.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead, coach, and mentor the entire procurement team to achieve departmental objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or 10 to 15 years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Strong language skills to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence, and effectively communicate with customers and employees.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, and the application of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Strong reasoning ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

  • MIOSHA training
  • ISO Certification

  • Travel may be required to visit vendor and/or customer sites.
