Position Overview:

The Physical Rehabilitation Veterinarian will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive medical attention to our patients. Responsibilities include performing thorough physical assessments, interpreting diagnostic results, and administering appropriate treatments. This position also involves maintaining meticulous records of all procedures and ensuring effective communication with clients and referring veterinarians regarding patient care and treatment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of veterinary technicians and assistants within the Physical Rehabilitation department.
  • Develop and implement rehabilitation therapy plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and radiographic evaluations.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Engage in continuous education and training for interns and externs, fostering a culture of learning.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care and departmental goals.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Oregon.
  • Experience in physical rehabilitation and general veterinary practice is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in medical calculations and understanding of animal anatomy.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate care and support to patients and their owners.
  • Leadership skills with a focus on team collaboration and development.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 40 lbs independently and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
  • Capability to work in a dynamic environment with exposure to various animal sounds and conditions.
