To enhance the experience for our patients and support our exceptional team, we have developed a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital campus, spanning over 26,000 square feet. This facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tools, including MRI, CT, and chemotherapy services, while also providing a welcoming environment for both staff and clients, featuring amenities such as food trucks and a beer garden.

Position Overview:

The Rehabilitation Veterinarian will play a crucial role in delivering timely and thorough medical care to our patients. Responsibilities include conducting physical assessments, interpreting diagnostic results, and administering necessary treatments. The successful candidate will maintain accurate records of all services provided and ensure effective communication with clients and referring veterinarians regarding patient care and treatment strategies. Additionally, the Rehabilitation Veterinarian will actively engage in promoting the practice and contribute to the training and development of interns and externs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership:
    • Collaborate with fellow veterinarians and staff to foster a positive work environment that meets the needs of pet-parents, patients, and team members.
    • Provide guidance and daily coaching to the team of technicians and assistants within the rehabilitation service.
    • Enhance workflow processes to achieve positive patient outcomes and improve the experience for pet-parents and staff.
    • Lead by example to cultivate a culture that embodies our core values.
    • Encourage team involvement in problem-solving initiatives.
    • Facilitate clear communication among team members and clients.
    • Participate in regular meetings and performance reviews for the rehabilitation service.
    • Set annual and quarterly goals for self and team members, ensuring consistent progress checks.
    • Accountable for achieving team goals and assisting in overcoming obstacles.
  • Operational Duties:
    • Design, implement, and manage rehabilitation therapy treatment plans for patients.
    • Conduct and interpret laboratory and radiographic tests as necessary.
    • Administer therapeutic measures for medical and surgical treatments while maintaining comprehensive records.
    • Manage cases referred from other departments as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with safety policies and standard operating procedures within the rehabilitation department.
    • Maintain thorough documentation of all interactions as per organizational policies.
    • Promote a clean and professional environment within the hospital.
    • Engage in continuing education to enhance technical, medical, and leadership skills.
    • Participate in educational rounds and training for interns and externs.
    • Support marketing efforts for our services.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice veterinary medicine.
  • Preferred experience in physical rehabilitation and general veterinary practice.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in a multi-specialty and emergency veterinary hospital is a plus.

  • Knowledge of canine and feline anatomy.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs independently and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
  • Physical stamina to sit, stand, bend, and walk throughout the day.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small and large equipment.
  • Willingness to wear protective gear as required.
  • Ability to work in an environment with various animal sounds and bodily fluids.
