Job Description Summary
Haverford College invites applications for a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible Associate Director of Alumni and Family Engagement opportunity. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Alumni and Family Engagement and the broader Alumni and Constituent Engagement team to achieve this goal.

This is an exciting time to join Haverford's Institutional Advancement team, as the College approaches its 200th anniversary. The team is expanding its impact by leading a comprehensive, multi-faceted campaign aligned with Haverford's strategic plan. As the campaign ramps up, the team is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated philanthropy professionals who want to innovate and usher Haverford College into a new era.

Job Summary

The Associate Director of Alumni and Family Engagement will design and implement comprehensive engagement opportunities for the Haverford alumni and family community, aligning with the College's fundraising and engagement efforts. This role will work closely with the Director of Alumni and Family Engagement and the broader Alumni and Constituent Engagement team to achieve this goal.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive engagement opportunities for the Haverford alumni and family community, aligning with the College's fundraising and engagement efforts.
  • Work closely with the Director of Alumni and Family Engagement and the broader Alumni and Constituent Engagement team to achieve this goal.
  • Partner with and guide current alumni affinity volunteer leadership to expand connections among Haverford's alumni, student, and family communities.
  • Creatively plan a robust and compelling annual Family and Friends Weekend experience for guests, together with Special Events colleagues.
  • Manage the creative design, planning, and execution of select virtual or in-person continuing education events for external constituencies, showcasing talent throughout the community.
  • Act as the ACE liaison to the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Access.
  • Guide programs to (re)engage community members and broaden representation and participation in existing programs.
  • Collaborate with, and promote support for, Annual Giving and other Haverford giving priorities, as well as the upcoming comprehensive fundraising campaign.
  • Maintain all electronic systems as it relates to this work, including the website, departmental calendars, CVent (registrations), MailChimp (email), Raiser's Edge (database), Haverford Connect (networking platform), social media, and more.
  • Act as staff representative at events as necessary, including during evening and weekend programs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as guided by the Director of AFE.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Line of Report: The Associate Director of Alumni and Family Engagement reports to the Director of Alumni and Family Engagement and has no direct reports.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Three years of experience in a professional office environment.
Professional Competencies
  • Experience in alumni relations, volunteer management, and/or program development.
  • Effective communication skills, including proofreading and editing.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, to prioritize work efficiently, and to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Strategic thinker that can easily see opportunities for growth, advancement, and scaling of projects.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to carry out multiple activities and projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work with confidential materials and situations with sensitivity, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and mail merge, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (documents, forms, sheets).
  • Technological proficiency in MailChimp (or similar email system), BaseCamp/Asana (or other project/event management system), and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed to perform the duties of the role.
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and/or nationally as needed (
