Role of the Biomedical Technician

The Biomedical Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all medical equipment and supplies within the facility are functioning correctly and are safe for patient use. This position also involves maintaining the overall facility infrastructure.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with typical shifts from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. On-call availability may be required, covering multiple clinics.

Compensation: Hourly pay ranges from $18.55 to $28.38, based on technical expertise and experience in dialysis.

Key Responsibilities

Expectations for the Role:

  • Conduct repairs, calibration, and maintenance of dialysis equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance on water systems both in-clinic and for home patients.
  • Adhere to AAMI standards for water safety and equipment reprocessing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Execute air quality testing and take necessary actions based on results.
  • Manage inventory as per company protocols.
  • Follow safety procedures for hazardous materials and medical waste.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management programs.

Qualifications

Education and Training Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three months of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience
  • Completion of manufacturer training courses within the first year of employment
