Operational Efficiency Consultant

At Houston Methodist, the Operational Efficiency Consultant role is essential in supporting the organization through thorough research, detailed analysis, and strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness. This position plays a key role in facilitating organizational initiatives focused on business process enhancement, change management, systems redesign, and innovative solution development.

Key Responsibilities:

PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collaborates with frontline staff and operational leaders to pinpoint areas needing improvement. Engages in effective communication with end users, vendors, colleagues, and management regarding system-related topics and challenges. SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works alongside stakeholders and support departments to craft process solutions. Aids operational leaders in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, relevance, and timeliness of reported data and information. Provides education and training to clients on the effective use and adaptation of systems. QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Demonstrates strong time management skills to ensure timely fulfillment of service and support requests from end users and team members. Utilizes system tools and reports to proactively assist end users and team members in achieving consistent data accuracy. Guarantees that all reported data and information are accurate, consistent, relevant, and timely. FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Identifies necessary financial and statistical information to support decision-makers, providing relevant, accurate, and timely insights. GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Gathers and disseminates information through the exploration and integration of both external and internal databases and sources. Continuously contributes ideas and potential improvements to processes and procedures based on observations, experiences, and requests from end users. Qualifications:

EDUCATION
A Bachelor's degree is required, with an additional four years of experience required in lieu of a degree. WORK EXPERIENCE
A minimum of three years of experience in decision support, clinical, or business operations; consideration may be given to current employees with two years of experience. Experience in training end users on system utilization is preferred. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Demonstrates the necessary skills and competencies to safely perform assigned tasks, evaluated through ongoing assessments and performance reviews. Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language to effectively perform essential job functions, particularly regarding activities impacting safety or security. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and colleagues, adhering to a customer service focus and positive language principles. Proven ability to train end users on system utilization is preferred. Basic understanding of system integration and interface processes. Fundamental problem-solving and data analysis skills. Strong communication and user documentation skills. Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to meeting customer expectations. Proficient in using email, word processing, Excel, and PowerPoint applications. Skills in data analysis, export, manipulation, and problem resolution. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments simultaneously. Knowledge of the Health Care Industry (Clinical, Finance/Accounting, Research) is preferred.
