Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless registration and access to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical, and financial.
  • Cross-train to staff all areas of patient access, including front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register.
  • Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.
  • Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer-facing role, or an associate's degree and one year of experience, or a bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders, or completion of a course within one year.
  • Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems.

Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Sufficient mobility and strength to move around the department and throughout the facility.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Excessive walking and standing while obtaining patient information when using a laptop computer on a wheeled device for bedside registration.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
