About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist with submitting daily requests for referrals and authorizations
  • Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments and tests according to office protocols
  • Meet or exceed performance measures established by the Practice Management Department
  • Provide exceptional customer service that aligns with Optum's service standards
  • Work with multiple service lines throughout the day to assist patients with appointments, medication refills, and insurance updates
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure completeness of documentation for referrals and authorizations
  • Assemble patient information, including clinical background, insurance, and referral needs, according to referral guidelines
  • Serve as a point of contact for patients with questions and concerns
  • Ensure work is performed according to company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Provide high-quality care and service excellence to patients
  • Perform other administrative and clerical duties as assigned
  • Participate in department initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulations

Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of receptionist experience in a medical office
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
  • Independent means of transportation during work hours for job-related tasks
Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
