The Team

At Alaska Airlines, we are dedicated to crafting an airline that resonates with our customers. Our corporate teams develop strategies and operational frameworks that drive our success.

Our collective enthusiasm for travel and commitment to our guests fuels our pursuit of excellence every day.

If you share our vision for an airline that prioritizes customer satisfaction, we would like to connect with you.

Role Summary

The Technical Product Manager serves as a key authority in overseeing the Operations Analytics product suite, systems, and methodologies.

In this individual contributor role, you will utilize your expertise to facilitate collaboration among Business Intelligence managers, analysts, developers, and partner teams, enhancing operational efficiencies through innovative technical solutions.

This position is tasked with establishing standards and best practices for the optimal deployment of our analytical tools across Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.

Key Responsibilities

As a recognized expert in technical product delivery, process enhancement, and business intelligence, you will coordinate multiple significant projects aimed at delivering essential analytical tools and support for Alaska's Operations and HR divisions.

Lead OKR planning sessions, create a business impact scoring system to assist in prioritization, and collaborate with Business Intelligence, Data Science, and ITS leadership to outline commitments.

Monitor and communicate progress towards objectives while facilitating the removal of obstacles to success.
Identify and comprehend customer requirements, translating them into actionable specifications. Ensure that these specifications are thoroughly understood and that implementation strategies align with expectations.
Act as the authority on Operations Analytics data products, their applications, technical lineage, and business implications. Advocate for our products through various community platforms and internal initiatives. Maintain our data catalog, ensuring customer-facing resources accurately represent our offerings and include self-service documentation.
Oversee data governance and the lifecycle of Operations Analytics data products. Define success metrics for testing and product acceptance. Facilitate the creation and upkeep of comprehensive product documentation. Identify opportunities to eliminate redundancies and support a unified "source of truth" for key metrics and data products.

Assist Business Intelligence leadership in developing a management system to streamline the intake, development, delivery, and ongoing oversight of data products and business relationships.

Manage internal Azure DevOps, GitHub, and other collaborative platforms for continuous development management.
Establish standards and best practices for optimal deployments of our analytical tools. Stay informed about technical trends and their implications for our roadmap.

Play a pivotal role in our change management process, articulating a strategy to advance our analytic platforms through new products, upgrades, and features.

Enhance our processes through automation to streamline tasks and minimize errors. Identify gaps and challenges in data, systems, processes, and skills, collaborating with leadership to implement effective solutions.
With minimal oversight from leadership, track issues and drive their resolution. Address program-level impediments. Identify and communicate any unresolved challenges with suggested corrective actions. Manage risks and responses to those risks. Prepare for contingencies by establishing appropriate links between risk, scope, schedule, and resources.
Monitor server loads and cloud computing expenses to gather performance and usage metrics. Identify opportunities for productivity, efficiency, or financial enhancements.

Foster strong relationships with development, engineering, infrastructure, network teams, and business partners, managing collaborative OKR planning, project escalations, and customer inquiries.
