Job Description Summary

The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members

Job Description

Internship may support any sub-sections within operations of Test System Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and perform work in compliance to all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies and regulations
  • Interface with external organizations & internal supporting functions that support business needs
  • Work on assignments that are assigned to area, identify issues or problems with equipment, processes and/or products.
  • Communicate work product to the appropriate persons.
  • Contribute to and collaborate with team to effectively deliver on priorities
  • Periodically prepare and implement supporting work plans to update equipment to enhance lab capabilities.

Key Skills:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Airframe & Powerplant license.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer to navigate Online documents, drawings, and instructions.
  • Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
