Job Description

GE Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team in the Fluid Systems group. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for executing the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects, using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of pumps, actuators, and mechanical controls for our legacy military and derivative products.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of fluid system controls and mechanical design, using prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • Exhibit autonomy to make decisions within a defined requirements framework while resolving design challenges in situations that require technical knowledge and judgment.
  • Reviews designs and consults with senior technical leaders for evaluation of work.
  • Develop strong internal and external customer relationships by serving as an interface point within GE.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, from an accredited University or College.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.
Desired Characteristics
  • Existing Secret US DoD clearance or higher.
  • Experience with pumps, actuators, valves, and verification activities associated at the component or system level.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Passionate about giving and receiving mentorship.
