Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Florida Vision Institute. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists and optometrists in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examinations and conduct preliminary exams, capturing medical history and vital signs.
  • Assist physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Perform routine vision screenings, including visual acuity assessments, confrontational visual field testing, and pupillary evaluations.
  • Administer eye medications and maintain accurate records of patient care.
  • Conduct inventory management and maintain clinical examination equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient clinic operations.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in electronic medical records.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • One to two years' experience in a multi-specialty clinic or ophthalmic setting preferred.
