Job Description

The Pharmacist Specialist will provide pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners. This includes filling prescriptions, dispensing medicines, counseling patients and medical practitioners regarding the nature and use of drugs, and training and/or supervising pharmacy interns. The successful candidate must have a completion of accredited university pharmacy program and successful passing of competency exams meeting state regulations. A current and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist in the state of practice is also required.

This role requires one year of current experience as a Pharmacist in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration. They will also be responsible for preparing and/or overseeing the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications to patients or medical practitioners; making decisions regarding generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year. We follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. The successful candidate will take patient histories as required; make initial clinical assessments and refer patients to appropriate clinicians.
