We are seeking a highly skilled Cancer Care Specialist to join our team at Valor Healthcare, Inc. in Durham, NC.

Job Description

This role will be telehealth assisting patients out of the Durham, VA Medical Center. The estimated salary for this position is around $140,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience.

The Cancer Care Specialist will be responsible for medication therapy management of acute and ambulatory care cancer patients, assessing, consulting, and treatment in the hematology and oncology fields. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience with oncology and hematology.

The Responsibilities include:

  • counseling new patients on their oral or injectable anticancer drug regimens
  • regularly assessing patients for toxicities prior to subsequent cycles of chemotherapy
  • supporting satellite pharmacy operations responsible for compounding/dispensing antineoplastic drugs
  • managing post-hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients

The Requirements include:

  • Graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of a clinical pharmacy residency or PGY 1 accredited by ASHP or ACOP
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist in any state or commonwealth
