Department Overview

PG&E's Corporate Real Estate Strategy and Services (CRESS) is tasked with the governance, planning, acquisition, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of an extensive portfolio of facilities, totaling 8.2 million square feet across a vast service area.

Position Summary

This role is represented by IBEW local 1245, an organization with a rich history of over a century in representing PG&E employees.

Your responsibilities will include conducting maintenance, repairs, and various service tasks essential for the upkeep, minor construction, and renovation of buildings and surrounding areas.

The working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Compensation:

PG&E provides a range for the hourly rate that reflects the company's good faith estimate for this position. The actual pay will depend on various factors, including skills, education, certifications, experience, market conditions, geographic location, and internal equity.

As per the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $46.40 to $54.83, subject to wage increases negotiated collectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute minor and urgent repairs on-site and coordinate transportation of equipment for additional repairs as needed.
  • Order systems furniture, assess appropriate layouts, and carry out installations and adjustments.
  • Operate a service vehicle to designated job sites, run errands for parts, and ensure vehicle or equipment is refueled.
  • Perform inspections of equipment to assess repair needs and identify necessary replacement parts.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding safety, parts, repairs, and timelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willingness to wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Safe driving skills in all road conditions.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Capability to lift up to 100 pounds at least once daily.
  • Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license or ability to obtain one by the first day of employment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three years of hands-on experience in facilities-related construction, maintenance, or repair.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated positive customer service attitude.
  • Ideal candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from the headquarters.
