Department Overview

PG&E's Corporate Real Estate Strategy and Services (CRESS) division oversees the governance, planning, acquisition, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of an extensive portfolio of facilities, totaling 8.2 million square feet across a vast service area.

Position Summary

This role is represented by IBEW local 1245, an organization with a century-long history of advocating for PG&E employees.

The primary responsibilities include conducting maintenance, repairs, and various service tasks related to the upkeep and minor construction of buildings and grounds.

The standard working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Compensation:

PG&E provides a range for the hourly rate, reflecting the company's good faith estimate for this position. The actual pay will depend on various factors, including skills, education, experience, and location. The starting hourly rate is between $46.40 and $54.83, subject to collective bargaining agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor and urgent repairs on-site, and coordinate transportation of equipment for further repairs as needed.
  • Order systems furniture, determine suitable layouts, and execute installation and adjustments.
  • Operate a service vehicle to designated job sites, run errands for parts, and ensure vehicle maintenance.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment to assess repair needs and identify replacement parts.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding safety, parts, repairs, and timelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willingness to wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Safe driving skills in all road conditions.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights and weekends.
  • Capability to lift up to 100 pounds at least once daily.
  • Valid California Class C driver's license or ability to obtain it by the first day of employment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three years of hands-on experience in facilities-related construction, maintenance, or repair.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated positive customer service skills.
  • Ideal candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from the headquarters.
