Department Overview

The Corporate Real Estate Strategy and Services (CRESS) division at PG&E is tasked with the governance, planning, acquisition, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of an extensive portfolio of facilities spanning 8.2 million square feet across a vast service area. This includes a variety of facilities such as service centers, data centers, contact centers, office buildings, workshops, warehouses, and maintenance garages.

Position Summary

This role is represented by IBEW local 1245, an organization with a century-long history of advocating for PG&E employees.

In this position, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and various service tasks essential for the upkeep, minor construction, and renovation of buildings and surrounding areas.

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Compensation:

PG&E provides a range for the hourly rate that reflects the company's good faith estimate for this position at the time of posting. This range is specific to the job's locality. The actual hourly rate will depend on several factors, including specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. The starting hourly rate range for this position is between $46.40 and $54.83, subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct minor and emergency repairs as needed on-site and coordinate the transportation of equipment to the shop for further repairs.
  • Order systems furniture, determine suitable layouts, and perform installation and adjustments.
  • Operate a service vehicle to designated job sites, run errands to procure parts, and refuel vehicles or equipment as necessary.
  • Perform visual, auditory, and mechanical inspections of equipment to assess repair needs and identify replacement parts.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Engage with internal and external customers regarding safety, parts, repairs, and timelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Willingness to wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Safe driving skills in all road conditions.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds at least once daily.
  • Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license or the ability to obtain one by the first day of employment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three years of hands-on experience in facilities-related construction, maintenance, or repair.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively within a team.
  • Positive customer service attitude.
  • Ideal candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from the headquarters.
