Department Overview

The Corporate Real Estate Strategy and Services (CRESS) division at PG&E is tasked with the governance, planning, acquisition, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of an extensive portfolio of facilities, totaling 8.2 million square feet across a vast service area.

Position Summary

This role is represented by IBEW local 1245, an organization with a long-standing history of advocating for PG&E employees.

Your responsibilities will include conducting maintenance, repairs, and various service tasks essential for the upkeep and minor renovations of buildings and surrounding areas.

The working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Compensation Information

PG&E is providing a salary range that reflects the company's good faith estimate for this position at the time of posting. The actual compensation will depend on various factors, including specific skills, education, certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

According to the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly wage for this role ranges from $46.40 to $54.83, subject to potential wage increases as negotiated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor and urgent repairs on-site, with the possibility of arranging for equipment to be transported for further repairs.
  • Order systems furniture, determine suitable layouts, and carry out installations and adjustments.
  • Operate a service vehicle to designated job sites, run errands to procure parts, and ensure vehicle or equipment is refueled.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to assess repair needs and identify necessary replacement parts.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding safety, parts, repairs, and timelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willingness to wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Safe driving skills in all road conditions.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Capability to lift up to 100 pounds at least once daily.
  • Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license or the ability to obtain one by the first day of employment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three years of hands-on experience in facilities-related construction, maintenance, or repair.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated positive customer service attitude.
  • Ideal candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from the headquarters.
