The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is seeking a dedicated and experienced Power Systems Education Specialist to join our team. As an expert in electrical systems, you will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to ensure that our employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.

About the Role

The Instructor, Electrical Systems will play a critical role in ensuring that our employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing all Electrical Maintenance training programs, conducting classroom and field training, and directing curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for Electrical Maintenance classifyitions.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine employee skill levels.
  • Create and maintain accurate training records.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and instructors to schedule and coordinate training sessions.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to employees on their performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in electrical systems.

Estimated salary: $68,830 per year.

Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years working as a journeyman electrician in a commercial/industrial environment with experience in the maintenance and installation of AC distribution equipment, control systems, and related equipment operations.
  • A valid Massachusetts State Journeyman Electrician's License.
  • A valid Massachusetts Class D driver's license.
  • Effective organizational and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Database or PowerPoint applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to evaluate and guide the performance of others in various training situations.
  • Excellent customer service, training, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to supervise represented Wirepersons and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
