Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with our Senior Leadership Team and various Brand Leaders to develop a focused growth strategy while ensuring that our operations run smoothly and aligned with our overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term growth strategies and prioritize goals, including audience development, content strategy, partnership curation, retail site coordination, and resource allocation.
  • Execute a full audit of each portfolio brand, identifying immediate opportunities for improvement.
  • Determine organizational design and devise strategies for future growth and scale, with a concrete plan for implementation.
  • Provide focused interdepartmental leadership and manage production-related projects, emphasizing quality and cost control.
  • Build and maintain relationships with brand managers, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Establish and manage the Amyris Studios budget for content, edutainment, social media, events, experiences, and creative agency, focusing on efficiency and future revenue opportunities.
  • Ensure consistent, efficient workflows, yielding optimal productivity and performance.
  • Prioritize work for the creative teams, establish overall timelines, and milestones to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor standardized systems and processes to provide visibility into successes and obstacles to our key initiatives.
  • Create, institute, and analyze key metrics of success for the day-to-day performance of the operations, ensuring efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Define the scope of projects, objectives, strategy, deliverables, schedule, and budget, and evaluate availability of resourcing to successfully execute scope.
  • Partner with the Content Team to oversee and support execution of content programming across multiple locations and channels.
  • Install methodologies and systems designed to enhance creative teams' effectiveness while balancing their creative vision.
  • Execute legal contracts related to releases, celebrity contracts, influencer contracts, vendors, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Master's degree in business or operations.
  • 12+ years of senior leadership experience in operations and strategy, leading cross-functional teams.
  • Superior knowledge of complex operational functions and strategies needed for growth, including finance, customer service, production, creative, content, and employee management.
  • Experience with budget and business plan development.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for increased productivity.
  • Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings.
  • Experience in HR hiring, managing, promotion.
  • Experience in working with legal teams to execute contracts.
  • Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to develop and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands.
  • Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, project management tools.
  • Experience with successfully managing teams and motivating and influencing others by displaying strong leadership and emotional intelligence.
  • Self-starter who can hit the ground running, works autonomously, and proactively to make progress.
  • Problem solver who knows every detail of a project from a strategic standpoint to the small details of project management, people, timeline, scope management, and budget.
  • Stellar interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills, thorough with details and follow-through, and primed to own a key collaborative role.
