Job Summary

A successful candidate will play an active role in the City of College Park's existing operational success. The purpose of the position is to support the efficient operation of the department and City through the coordination of a wide variety of administrative and clerical duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication and Coordination
    • Handles incoming inquiries and requests; answers the telephone; routes and returns telephone calls.
    • File and type forms and applications.
    • Coordinate calendar events to include planning/scheduling appointments, meetings, and interviews; updates regularly; contact parties involved as appropriate.
  • Document Management
    • Maintains confidential documents, reports, correspondence, and calls.
    • Files correspondence and other documents.
    • Processes/posts and maintains logs and maintains logs and reports that must be signed or initiated.
  • Financial Transactions
    • May collect fees and prepare for depositing.
  • Administrative Support
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Two (2) years of secretarial or general administrative experience; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Experience in communicating with diverse communities, and in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, as well as knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
