Job Overview

Join our dynamic team at The Oxbow Hotel, where we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality in a vibrant urban setting. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to take on the role of Guest Services Representative.

The Guest Services Representative serves as the initial point of contact for our guests, providing a warm welcome and assisting with their needs to ensure a memorable experience.

This is a part-time position with a competitive pay rate of $16 per hour. The schedule requires availability from 3pm to 11pm on weekdays and weekends. Candidates must be capable of working independently and managing the full 8-hour shift.

Compensation:

$16 hourly

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Adapt to a flexible work schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends (3/month), and holidays.
  • Manage room reservations through various channels: in-person, online, and via phone, addressing guest inquiries regarding room availability, amenities, rates, and special requests.
  • Facilitate guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently while adhering to hotel cash handling policies.
  • Assign rooms and accommodate special requests whenever feasible.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any concerns and assisting with inquiries related to hotel services, events, and directions.
  • Process room cancellations in accordance with hotel policies.
  • Uphold safety standards and maintain guest confidentiality at all times.
  • Be readily available to assist guests without remaining seated.
  • Comply with all company policies, including those related to dress code and personal device usage.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to guest requests through various communication methods.
  • Manage lost and found items, ensuring proper tracking and distribution.
  • Keep the hotel lobby and common areas clean and welcoming, performing light cleaning duties as needed.
  • Maintain the coffee and beverage station throughout the shift.
  • Ensure a balanced cash drawer as assigned, processing transactions accurately.
  • Restock front desk supplies and gift shop items as necessary, communicating with the Front Desk Manager regarding low inventory.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Front Desk Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Background in hospitality is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a front desk role is advantageous.
  • A GED or high school diploma is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience is essential.
