Job Summary:

NRG Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Business Partner to join our team. As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our business leaders and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with business leaders and employees to provide seamless HR support.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and business partner to our business leaders, providing coaching and guidance on HR-related matters.
  • Facilitate and improve the recruiting process by providing assistance with job descriptions, compensation analysis, approvals, and onboarding.
  • Support compensation program administration by preparing incentive plans and non-solicit/non-compete agreements.
  • Perform audits of employee data to ensure data integrity.
  • Coordinate and support leave management for the business.
  • Act as a liaison for the business and learning development and training resources.
  • Provide positive customer service by responding to employees and managers on HR-related questions.
  • Promote employee and manager self-service with available systems and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve the effectiveness of current HR/business processes and practices.
  • Manage and implement special projects as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment.
  • Hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office.
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise.
  • Minimal travel required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and 5 years of well-rounded HR experience in a generalist or business partner role supporting a client group in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
  • Strong employee relations experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills to include Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Recent experience supporting field-based or remote teams.
  • HR experience supporting skilled trades, construction, hospitality, or consumer services.
  • Experience working within an HRMS, SuccessFactors.

  • Must possess effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit high ethical standards.
  • Ability to solve complex and sometimes ambiguous problems and provide options or recommendations to client groups.
  • Ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources on short notice.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member; strong teamwork and collaboration skills, customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the company, from front-line employees to senior leadership. Demonstrated ability to influence others.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
