About the Role:
The Human Resources Assistant will support Vaco in various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of HR functions. This role involves handling employee records, assisting with recruitment processes, coordinating training sessions, and providing general HR support to employees and management.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update employee records, including personal information, employment history, and benefits.
- Enter changes into the payroll system to ensure payroll runs smoothly.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure all activities comply with company policies.
- Assist in posting job openings on various platforms and screening resumes.
- Coordinate interview schedules between candidates and hiring managers.
- Prepare onboarding materials and facilitate new hire orientation sessions.
- Handle general office tasks, including filing, answering phones, and scheduling meetings.
- Assist in preparing HR reports and metrics for management review.
- Assist in organizing HR events, such as employee recognition programs and company outings.
- Provide support to other departments as needed, including data entry, research, and special projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using HRIS software (e.g., ADP) and other HR and payroll tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in Human Resources preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a human resources or administrative role, preferably in the waste management or a related industry.
- Familiarity with ADP or similar system is strongly preferred.
