Role Overview:

This position is integral to our Lunar Transportation division, focusing on the development of the Blue Moon lander product lines.

To support our vision of enabling human presence in space, we are establishing sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Key Responsibilities:

As a vital member of a dedicated team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will:

  • Design and implement innovative turbine and compressor hardware for advanced spaceflight systems.
  • Utilize your expertise in computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis for aerodynamic design, primary and secondary flow path design, thermal analysis, and structural assessment of high-speed turbomachines.
  • Validate CFD models against experimental data and propose design modifications for future testing initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, development, and testing of high-speed gas turbomachinery.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of turbomachinery component design and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to foster trust and maintain professional relationships while contributing to an inclusive culture.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and graphical communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with external stakeholders.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with turbomachinery focused on gas compression and expansion.
  • Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., CFD++, ANSYS CFX, BladeGen, FLUENT).
  • Experience with FEA tools, preferably ANSYS Workbench.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ for aerodynamic tool development.
  • Knowledge of cryogenic fluids and Brayton cycles.
  • Experience with high-speed data acquisition and instrumentation.
