Lunar Turbomachinery Engineer III

We are seeking an experienced Turbomachinery Bearings Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin, working on the development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop advanced liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen pumps for the Lunar Lander
- Specify, design, and procure bearings for multiple cryogenic pumps
- Work closely with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program
- Contribute to the development of the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area
- 5+ years of experience in turbomachinery bearing design engineering
- Experience in turbomachinery design, material selection, and tribology
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly collaborate with external parties including government and commercial entities
- M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area
- Experience with cryogenic applications
- Experience in all phases of turbomachinery life cycle in flight vehicle applications
