Turbomachinery Structural Analyst III

At Blue Origin, we're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. As part of our Lunar Transportation business unit, we're building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
We're looking for an experienced turbomachinery structural analyst to join our team. This role will involve performing structural analysis using FEA and classical methods on turbomachinery components such as impellers, housings, bearings, and shafts. You will conduct fatigue and fracture calculations and write detailed structural analysis reports.
This position is part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program, and you will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform structural analysis using FEA and classical methods on turbomachinery components
- Conduct fatigue and fracture calculations
- Write detailed structural analysis reports
- Collaborate with NASA and our National Team Partners
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area
- 5+ years of experience in turbomachinery structural analysis
- Experience performing FEA utilizing non-linear modeling techniques to include non-linear material and contact methods in ANSYS
- Experience performing modal analysis and frequency prediction
- M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area
- Experience with cryogenic applications
- Experience in all phases of turbomachinery life cycle in flight vehicle applications
Compensation Range: CA applicants is $111,690.00-$156,366.00; CO applicants is $102,382.50-$143,335.50; WA applicants is $111,690.00-$156,366.00
