Aerospace Materials and Processes Leader

Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials and Processes Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of materials and processes for our spaceflight systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans for analysis and qualification of components, materials, and processes
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in the development of new aerospace processes and refinement of existing ones
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development and implementation of materials and processes
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in materials and processes engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry
- Minimum B.S. in Material Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated experience in managing or leading engineering teams, preferably in the aerospace industry
- Proven experience in developing and executing test plans for analysis and qualification of components, materials, and processes
- Strong technical expertise in materials and processes engineering, including knowledge of industry standards and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters or PhD in Material Science/Engineering or related field
- Direct experience in managing technology development projects, measuring technical progress, resources, and managing budgets
- Experience with Failure and Forensic Analysis experience for rotating machinery (e.g. turbomachinery) and static hardware
- Familiarity with high-temperature, high pressure Oxygen Engines applications
- Familiarity with analysis, testing, and mitigation for Hydrogen Embrittlement
