Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials and Processes Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of materials and processes for our spaceflight systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for analysis and qualification of components, materials, and processes
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in the development of new aerospace processes and refinement of existing ones
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development and implementation of materials and processes
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in materials and processes engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Minimum B.S. in Material Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in managing or leading engineering teams, preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Proven experience in developing and executing test plans for analysis and qualification of components, materials, and processes
  • Strong technical expertise in materials and processes engineering, including knowledge of industry standards and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD in Material Science/Engineering or related field
  • Direct experience in managing technology development projects, measuring technical progress, resources, and managing budgets
  • Experience with Failure and Forensic Analysis experience for rotating machinery (e.g. turbomachinery) and static hardware
  • Familiarity with high-temperature, high pressure Oxygen Engines applications
  • Familiarity with analysis, testing, and mitigation for Hydrogen Embrittlement
