Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Government Segment, including direct operating expenses and growth-related finance needs. The Director will analyze financial results, comprehend complex rating structures, and provide financial forecasting. They will also partner with segment and matrix partner leaders to drive achievement of current year and multi-year financial commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage financial operations, including budget development, assessment of operating effectiveness, and multi-year financial performance targets.
  2. Develop and implement financial strategies to drive growth and profitability in the Government Segment.
  3. Partner with actuarial functions to enable effective product pricing, in-year claim analysis, and incurred but not recorded reserve decision making.
  4. Oversee compliance matters, including product filings, resolution of regulatory issues, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
  5. Prepare and present financial analysis of government segment initiatives to senior management for use in the strategic planning process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 7 years of progressive management or leadership experience, including 7 years of finance or accounting experience.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Healthcare payer sector experience.
Skills
  • Ability to analyze financial results and comprehend complex rating structures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization/environment.
