Executive Support to the Director

This is an exciting opportunity to work with and provide support to agency leadership, the Water Resources Commission, and staff that are seeking to advance water policy, management, and science in Oregon.
This position will provide confidential executive support to the Director, the Water Resources Commission, and the Agency Coordination Team (executive management team). This position works to provide a wide variety of administrative/technical support to ensure that the Water Resources Commission, executive management team, and other important department or state/interstate meetings and activities involving the Department operate smoothly.
This position provides backup support for the other executive support position in the Director's office, including assistance as needed for the Director's Office staff, Agency Management Group, and Deputy Directors. The executive support positions ensure that all communications with the Director's Office and Commission flow in a smooth and efficient manner with minimum disruption to the duties and activities of the Director and other staff.

Minimum Qualifications – Executive Support Specialist 2One year of experience performing administrative duties in support of agency projects or programs. Qualifying experience involves data collection and analysis; project evaluation and/or analysis; interpretation and application of laws, rules, and regulations; or similar experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Strong Interpersonal relationship skills- Demonstrated ability to develop harmonious and positive relationships with internal and external partners.
- Excellent communication skills – Ability to clearly and effectively communicate to ensure understanding and accuracy in the completion of work, and to effectively serve as a conduit for information.
- Administrative support expertise- Strong clerical, administrative and coordination skills while exercising good judgement about the release of confidential information. Ability to ensure completion of scheduling, travel, and correspondence needs.
- Excellent organization skills – Adept at tracking work progress, timelines, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Digital fluency – Experience using Microsoft Suite, virtual conferencing platforms and electronic filing systems.
- Statute and rules – Experience reading, interpreting, and using statutes, rules, and policies to conduct practices in a manner to comply with the law.
- Professional-level writing– Ability to draft, proof-read, seek feedback, incorporate and complete professional level documents and presentations within established timelines and ready for executive-level review.
- Equity and environmental justice – Informed on issues of equity and environmental justice and seeking to continue to learn and grow in these areas.

Working ConditionsWorking at a desk and on a computer for extended periods of time. Periodic travel will be necessary, including overnight travel. Work will include interfacing with the general public, interested parties, Tribes, and public officials. This position is expected to work with other sections of the agency and develop strong and effective working relationships to support the agency's mission and priorities.
