Senior Biomarker Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Biomarker Scientist to lead preclinical biomarker discovery and development efforts in our Translational Medicine Cardiovascular and Metabolism Diseases team.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented professional to lead biomarker strategies for research programs, collaborate with global development teams, and participate in external collaborations related to understanding disease pathogenesis and patient heterogeneity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement biomarker strategies for research programs, including partnering with Research to develop and implement biomarker strategies.
  • Lead the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of biomarker results, including collaborating with internal partners, including Research, Bioanalytical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, and Regulatory.
  • Collaborate with global development teams to address key questions during late-stage clinical development, including serving as the biomarker lead on cross-functional project teams and internal review committees.
  • Participate in or initiate external collaborations related to understanding disease pathogenesis and patient heterogeneity, including publishing results in high-quality journals and presenting at external conferences.
Requirements
  • PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in Endocrinology, Cell Biology, Physiology, or related fields with 6+ years of post-doctoral, fellowship, or industry experience.
  • Experience in preclinical and clinical sample collection/processing and cellular/molecular lab techniques.
  • Deep technical understanding of preclinical and clinical sample collection/processing and cellular/molecular lab techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as evidenced by publications, external presentations, and drug development reports.
  • Experience in leading R&D teams and fostering internal collaborations and partnerships with academic universities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior biostatistics or bioinformatics experience with programming skills in Python or R.
  • Experience in omics, pathway, network analysis, and other advanced analytical techniques.
