Illuminarium Experiences is a globally recognized brand delivering digitally immersive entertainment. Illuminarium designs, produces, markets, and manages captivating entertainment spectacles showcased in custom-built venues known as Illuminariums. Just as museums are to art, cinemas to films, and concert halls to music, Illuminariums represent the pinnacle of experiential entertainment. With venues spanning approximately 25,000 square feet and soaring ceilings, Illuminarium identifies existing properties and customizes the interiors, incorporating cutting-edge projection and sound systems. The outcome: Illuminariums transform into adaptable immersive theaters that envelop visitors in a unique sensory environment.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Retail Merchandise Specialist at Illuminarium Atlanta, your primary responsibility is to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests.

Illuminarium provides a distinctive retail environment, featuring branded memorabilia and culturally significant items crafted by artisans from Africa. As a key representative on the sales floor, the Retail Merchandise Specialist actively engages with guests, offering insights into the diverse array of unique products available. Storytelling is utilized to convey the charitable initiatives supported by the purchase of retail items, including efforts to build schools, implement solar energy solutions, and provide access to clean water. Throughout the day, the specialist will handle transactions and ensure that the merchandise displayed meets established standards.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of all Illuminarium products, promotions, and services.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and assist guests with their purchases.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Point of Sale systems and other relevant technologies.
  • Conduct cash management and perform end-of-shift self-audits.
  • Stay informed about stock availability, product details, and upcoming product ranges.
  • Assist in safeguarding products and assets by following shrinkage prevention procedures.
  • Support retail operations, including pricing, inventory management, stock movement, and merchandising.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must effectively perform each essential duty listed above. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer-facing retail experience in a high-volume environment; prior cash handling experience is essential.
  • Basic math skills; ability to accurately count change and balance cash.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and transport items weighing 10-20 pounds, occasionally up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently and with discretion, effectively under pressure.
  • Must possess sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks, including constant reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible in daily tasks, problem solver, results-driven, commercially focused, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to retain detailed information regarding all Illuminarium products, promotions, and services.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, customers, and management.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
