Position Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Chemical Safety Specialist to join a prominent team within a large organization focused on chemical and consumer goods.

Team Dynamics

This role will integrate into a Regulatory team of three professionals located in Connecticut, while being part of a broader global network of approximately 20 specialists in toxicology.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position will be on safety evaluations for a variety of personal care and household products, including:

  • Body wash
  • Hand care products

The specialist will be tasked with validating the formulations of these products to ensure consumer safety.

Daily Activities

On a day-to-day basis, the individual will:

  • Collaborate with local and global toxicologists to ensure comprehensive safety assessments are conducted.
  • Adhere to FDA regulations and guidelines.
  • Research new chemical substances and their implications.
  • Participate in industry conferences to remain informed about emerging toxins and chemicals.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and reporting standards.

Additionally, the specialist will validate products developed by R&D, address inquiries from business brands, stay updated on FDA regulations, and explore opportunities for process enhancements.

Qualifications
  • PhD in Toxicology
  • Experience in the beauty product sector
  • A minimum of 5 years of toxicology experience in a chemical manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with FDA and regulatory standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration
  • Experience in documentation and reporting

A degree in Toxicology is required for this position.
