Position Summary

Senior Environmental Engineer

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer with 0 to 3 years of experience, passionate about environmental and civil engineering. This role focuses on the design, implementation, construction, monitoring, assessment, regulatory compliance, and operational management of environmental control and monitoring systems for waste management facilities.

This position involves fieldwork, travel, and occasional overnight stays, including weekends. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, and slope stability analysis is advantageous. As a Senior Environmental Engineer, you will collaborate closely with senior personnel and contribute to a dynamic, challenging work environment that fosters professional growth and skill enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of engineering plans, including grading, drainage, utilities, leachate collection systems, landfill gas management, landfill cell construction, infrastructure development, stormwater management, and erosion control.
  • Design and permit solid waste engineering projects (landfills, transfer stations, recycling facilities).
  • Prepare technical documentation such as operational plans, construction quality assurance reports, and permit submissions.
  • Collect and analyze air and water monitoring samples.
  • Evaluate technical data effectively.
  • Communicate proficiently with team members and supervisors.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (AutoCAD) software for project designs.
  • Oversee and document construction activities at waste management facilities, including field inspections and testing of soils and geosynthetic materials. On-the-job training will be provided as necessary.
  • Your field responsibilities will encompass supervising and executing construction quality assurance and control activities across various locations, including the construction of landfill components and other environmental systems; collaborating with senior staff and guiding support personnel.
  • Provide support to senior staff as required to complete assignments, which may involve working beyond standard hours. Overtime compensation is not available for salaried positions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Environmental Engineering is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • EIT certification is preferred.
  • Surveying skills are a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D is desirable.
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics, including laboratory experience, is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice is essential.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
