Position Overview

The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a dedicated Environmental Engineer II to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our water and wastewater systems while adhering to environmental engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan Review: Evaluate plans and specifications for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects to ensure they meet engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Permit Assessment: Analyze permit applications and contract documents for compliance with relevant regulations, including oversight of on-site construction inspections.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert guidance to departmental staff and the public regarding water and wastewater infrastructure and related programs.
  • Project Management: Oversee the review process of infrastructure construction projects, utilizing the Advantage Regulatory Management database to interpret policies and regulations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the mission of the agency.
Qualifications

Education: Refer to Special Requirements.

Experience: A minimum of two years of engineering experience is required, in addition to the qualifications for licensure as a professional engineer.

Licensure: Candidates must hold a professional engineer license from the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors, maintaining all necessary credentials throughout employment.

Work Environment

This position typically operates in an office environment, with potential travel required throughout the state.
