Position Overview

The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a dedicated Environmental Engineer II to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the integrity of our drinking water and wastewater systems through rigorous engineering standards and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan Review: Evaluate construction plans and specifications for drinking water and wastewater projects to ensure adherence to engineering standards and regulations.
  • Permit Assessment: Review permit applications and contract documents to verify compliance with applicable regulations, including the State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan Program.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert assistance to departmental staff and the public regarding water and wastewater infrastructure and the SRF loan program.
  • Project Management: Oversee reviews of infrastructure construction projects utilizing the Advantage Regulatory Management database, interpreting departmental policies and regulations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the mission of the agency.
Qualifications

Education: Refer to Special Requirements.

Experience: A minimum of two years of engineering experience is required, in addition to the qualifications necessary for licensure as a professional engineer.

Licensure: Candidates must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors and maintain any required credentials throughout their employment.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, with potential travel required throughout the state.
