Banking Customer Support Specialist

Position Overview:
Wheatland Bank is on the lookout for a dedicated Banking Customer Support Specialist who will play a crucial role in our operations. The ideal candidate will possess a friendly demeanor, a passion for customer service, and a solid understanding of banking processes. As a vital member of our financial institution, you will assist clients with a range of banking inquiries and transactions, ensuring they receive top-notch service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the processing of retail and commercial deposits, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.
- Handles cash transactions, including check cashing and withdrawals, while verifying authorization and compliance with policies.
- Utilizes computer systems to manage account activities, resolve customer issues, and maintain accurate records.
- Assists with night depository operations, including logging and processing deposits and issuing receipts.
- Promotes additional banking products and services, directing clients to appropriate resources as needed.
- Issues cashier's checks and manages safe deposit box access for customers.
- Processes stop payment requests and loan payments efficiently.
- Balances cash drawers daily, ensuring accuracy in cash handling.
- Provides exceptional customer service, addressing and resolving client concerns within established guidelines.
- Maintains comprehensive records and prepares necessary reports as required.
- Handles incoming calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- May assist in various administrative tasks, including data entry and document management.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in cash handling is preferred.
- Background in customer service is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Proficient in basic numerical operations and ten-key skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with clients and colleagues.
- Capability to follow instructions accurately and effectively.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Work Environment:
The position requires working indoors in a climate-controlled office with moderate noise levels.
Physical Requirements:
The role involves frequent sitting, repetitive hand movements, and occasional standing or walking. The employee must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
