Job Overview:

The Inventory Control Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of inventory records across the organization. This position is tasked with managing all facets of the physical inventory process and ensuring the accuracy of inventory data.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the entire physical inventory process, including scheduling, creating detailed instructions, reconciling results, and reporting findings.
  2. Develop and implement a periodic cycle counting program to verify the accuracy of on-hand inventory for essential SKUs.
  3. Collaborate closely with Store and Field Associates to ensure personnel are well-trained in current inventory procedures.
  4. Investigate and resolve discrepancies found in the company’s inventory records.
  5. Maintain clear communication with Store, Distribution Centers, Support Center, and Field Associates regarding all inventory-related matters.
  6. Supervise the Mark out of Stock (MOS) system and establish best practices for MOS management.
  7. Manage the manual inventory adjustment process for Stores and Distribution Centers.
  8. Develop and promote best practices for Company Inventory Control and facilitate the rollout of inventory processes to Stores.
  9. Assist the Accounts Payable team with invoice processing as needed.
  10. Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business/Finance.
  2. A minimum of three years of accounting experience or proven skills through an internal development program.
  3. Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and operate effectively in a professional setting.
  4. Proficient in planning, prioritizing, and executing detailed instructions.
  5. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with team members and customers.
  6. Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  7. Strong analytical capabilities.
  8. Ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes.
  9. Familiarity with JDA software is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  2. Frequent use of computers and seated work is required.
  3. Regular ability to see, hear, and speak.
  4. Frequent gripping, reaching, and pinching with hands and arms.
  5. Occasional bending and twisting.
  6. Maintain a constant state of alertness and operate in a safe manner.
