Job Title: Device Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Device Registered Nurse to join our team at St. Luke's Heart Rhythm Center in Meridian, Idaho. As a Device Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing expert care and treatment of heart arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation.

Job Summary:

The Device Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing thorough, competent interrogations and reprogramming of cardiac devices implanted in patients, including Pacemakers, Implantable Loop Recorders, and Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators. This will include enrollments in Device Management Systems and device interrogations completed in outpatient settings as well as remotely monitored patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide thorough, competent interrogations and reprogramming of cardiac devices implanted in patients
  • Enroll patients in Device Management Systems and perform device interrogations in outpatient settings and remotely monitored patients
  • Triage patients for remote alert notifications and perform telephone triage for cardiac patients and device question phone calls
  • Assist cardiologists in managing device recalls and alerts and liaison with cardiac device company representatives regarding device upgrades, recalls, and alerts
  • Accurately identify malfunctions, alerts, and sub-optimal device operations and follow appropriate protocols with making programming changes and notifying physicians
  • Complete initial interrogations, report generation, charges, and documentation in the Electronic Health Record and Device Management Systems
  • Collaborate with Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, Advanced practitioners, cardiac device technologists, and other members of the patient care team to achieve optimal clinical outcomes
  • Provide education to patients and their significant other regarding basic pacemaker function, follow-up care needed, medications, process steps for in-clinic visits and remote device transmissions, and other clinical care needs
Requirements:
  • Nursing Degree
  • 1 year's experience
  • Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
  • Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in telemetry, general cardiology, or critical care, ECG, arrhythmia/dysrhythmia knowledge, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills
