Cardiac Device Specialist

St. Luke's Health System is seeking a skilled Device Registered Nurse to join our team at the Boise Heart Clinic. As a key member of our cardiovascular care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of clinical outcomes.
About the Role:The Device Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing thorough and competent interrogations and reprogramming of cardiac devices implanted in patients. This will include enrollments in Device Management Systems and device interrogations completed in outpatient settings as well as remotely monitored patients. You will also be responsible for triaging patients for remote alert notifications, performing telephone triage for cardiac patients and device question phone calls, and assisting cardiologists in managing device recalls and alerts.
Responsibilities:- Provide thorough and competent interrogations and reprogramming of cardiac devices implanted in patients
- Enroll patients in Device Management Systems and perform device interrogations in outpatient settings and remotely monitored patients
- Triage patients for remote alert notifications
- Perform telephone triage for cardiac patients and device question phone calls
- Assist cardiologists in managing device recalls and alerts
- Collaborate with Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, Advanced Practitioners, cardiac device technologists, and other members of the patient care team to achieve optimal clinical outcomes
- Provide education to patients and their significant other regarding basic pacemaker function, follow-up care needed, medications, process steps for in-clinic visits and remote device transmissions, and other clinical care needs
- Nursing Degree
- 1 year's experience
- Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
- 1+ years of experience in telemetry, general cardiology, or critical care
- ECG, arrhythmia/dysrhythmia knowledge
- Effective communicator and excellent critical thinking skills needed
