Key Responsibilities:

Conduct general accounting functions.

Prepare monthly journal entries and account analyses accurately and promptly.

Oversee the monthly reconciliation of accounts, including bank accounts, pledges, receivables, investments, payables, inter-affiliate transactions, and revenues.

Collaborate closely with the Gifts Processing team, including the review and analysis of pledges and revenue.

Manage and oversee the assigned Foundation entities within the Pooled Trust or the entire Pooled Trust, as designated.

Record, verify, process, and distribute check requests from various fund requestors.

Execute the monthly financial closing process, preparing and distributing financial statements to the Hospital Accounting team.

Conduct quarterly processes, including the preparation and distribution of internal asset reports and annuity payments.

Assist the Manager in explaining variances between Budget and Actual figures.

Support the interim and year-end external financial audit process, including the preparation of workpapers, flux schedules, and other analyses.

Assist the Manager in coordinating the Foundation Auxiliary's financial statements for the board and for the audit.

Be responsible for assisting with the Foundation Auxiliary's year-end audit.

Prepare annual 990 Tax Returns for the assigned Foundation entity/ies and coordinate with External Reporting.

Help the Manager resolve issues related to standard financial practices.

Ensure compliance with Department Policies and Procedures.

Monitor the system of internal controls.

Develop and maintain the Department Shared Drive (Z drive) and file retention.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, onsite.

Experience Required:

A minimum of five years of general accounting experience is essential.

Five years of hospital accounting experience utilizing financial systems or equivalent education and experience may be preferred.

Three years of experience in Foundation/Fund Accounting is preferred.

Educational Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science in Accounting or a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting from an accredited institution is required, or a minimum of 15 years of general accounting experience in a hospital or foundation in lieu of a degree.

Certifications:

Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred but not mandatory.
